London, 26 March 2026 – Funding Circle, the UK’s leading SME finance platform, today announces the appointment of Tim Trailor as Managing Director, Cards. Tim joins the leadership team to spearhead the continued growth and innovation of Funding Circle’s credit card solutions for small businesses.
Tim joins Funding Circle with over 20 years of experience in fintech leadership, credit risk, and scaling lending products. He most recently served as Chief Risk Officer at Envisso, where he was instrumental in expanding the company through several funding rounds, overseeing risk, data science, and AI teams.
Prior to Envisso, Tim held the role of Chief Risk Officer at Capital on Tap, where he led the risk management function and played a pivotal role in the firm’s international expansion and profitability growth. His extensive background also includes serving as Chief Credit Officer at Monzo Bank, where he successfully launched and scaled lending products to a book of over £150 million, and a tenure as Vice President at Klarna, where he helped establish the UK business and led global fraud prevention activities.
Tim’s career began with roles at global institutions including CapitalOne, Barclays and HBOS PLC, where he focused on profitably scaling card and loan portfolios.
